Run the River Ultra - Williamsburg

Run the River Ultra takes place on December 5, 2026 and is a point to point ultra running event on the Virginia Capital Trail. The route travels west along the trail and finishes in Richmond at mile marker 51.7.

Three distances are offered:

• Half Marathon
• 50K
• 51.7 Mile

Registration is capped at around 25 participants. The registration fee for each distance includes custom Run the River Ultra merchandise and access to aid stations that provide hydration and nutrition. Runners must provide their own water bottles; cups will not be provided. Runners are responsible for their own transportation to and from starting points.

Each distance begins at a different location along the Virginia Capital Trail. Start locations listed by distance are: Half Marathon starts at 3978 New Market Rd, Richmond, VA 23231 (Henricopolis Soil & Water District building).
50K starts at 10740 Courthouse Rd, Charles City, VA 23030 (Virginia Capital Trail Parking Lot).
51.7 Mile starts at Virginia Capital Trail Start, Williamsburg, VA 23185 (Jamestown Beach parking lot). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
