Run the River : HomeStretch
Run the River is an annual road race organized by HomeStretch that features USATF-certified, Peachtree Road Race qualifying courses along the Chattahoochee River in Roswell, Georgia. The event began in 2001 and has included large fields of participants in past years. Proceeds support HomeStretch’s programs to disrupt the cycle of homelessness, including safe housing, workforce development, financial coaching, and life-skills training for families.

- Youth Fun Run (12 and under)
The course is described as flat, runner-friendly, and scenic, with conditions that have supported personal record efforts and AJC Peachtree Road Race qualification. The 5K course is also suitable for active strollers and for recreational walkers who want a scenic route.
HomeStretch paused Run the River for 2026 due to significant construction and related road closures that affected safety, traffic control, and the event experience. The organization worked with city officials, public safety teams, and race operations partners to evaluate alternatives but concluded a one-year pause was necessary to protect safety and race quality. The race is scheduled to return on March 27, 2027, with planning priorities that include preserving the fast, flat Peachtree-qualifying character, improving race-day amenities and post-race experience, and expanding opportunities for runners, sponsors, and volunteers.
