Course, beneficiaries, and community
The event uses a certified USATF 5K course that starts and finishes at Lorraine Cherry Nature Preserve. The route runs through neighborhood streets and along the park perimeter. All race proceeds support local causes, including Lorraine Cherry Nature Preserve, Love Elementary, Sinclair Elementary, and other neighborhood initiatives. Recent efforts under the Grow the Grove program have resulted in planting over 50 large trees in the area. TMNA represents more than 400 homes in the Greater Heights area, a neighborhood near downtown Houston that is involved in beautification and community projects.
