Run the Bay
Run the Bay is a road and loop event held at Chambers Bay Loop Trail in University Place, Washington, on November 8, 2026. The course uses a wide, paved loop that combines flat sections, inclines, and switchbacks and is described as undulating. Each loop has approximately 236 feet of elevation gain and loss.
Distances offered:
- Half marathon: one longer loop plus three additional 5k loops
- 10k: two loops of the paved trail
- 5k: one loop of the paved trail
The event page notes that the half marathon uses a unique longer loop in addition to the standard loops used for the shorter distances. The race area includes reserved, privately rented parking near the start and finish and a designated area for event activities by the golf course entrance. Day-of packet pickup and on-site registration are available if entries are not sold out, and a course map shows how loops correspond to each distance.
The event is USATF sanctioned and lists a course briefing and packet pickup on race day. The organizers describe the location as a venue with notable bay views and reference that the site previously hosted the US Open. The loop format determines the number of laps required for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
