About the race

The Run Tasmania Stage Race is a four-day trail running event taking place in Hobart and South-East Tasmania, including the Tasman Peninsula. The race is structured into four distinct stages, each showcasing a different environment and ecosystem within the region.

Participants can choose between two course distances:

  • Devil Long Course: Covers between 15 km and 25 km per day, totaling 88.5 km over four days.
  • Quoll Short Course: Covers between 10 km and 23 km per day, totaling 67.5 km over four days.

The event transitions through diverse landscapes over the four stages. The first day features coastal trails in Kingston with ocean views and native bushland. The second day moves to an alpine setting on kunanyi / Mount Wellington, involving rugged peaks and rocky terrain. The third day takes place in the rainforests near Fortescue Bay on the Tasman Peninsula, characterized by giant ferns and moss-covered forests. The final day concludes on the clifftops of Cape Raoul, featuring trails along sea cliffs reaching heights of 300 meters above the Southern Ocean.

Logistics are coordinated by the organizers, including bus transfers, meals, and event hotels. The first two nights are spent in Hobart, followed by two nights on the Tasman Peninsula. Registration is limited to 300 runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
