Cascade Slide (Bar Edition)
Cascade Slide (Bar Edition) is a trail running event on Saturday 31 October 2026 in South Hobart. The event hub is at the Cascade Brewery Bar. It is organised by Kunanyi Trail Series and is the final event of the 2026 Series, held on Halloween. The series offers a season pass with a 10% discount on fees.
The event offers three course options:
- Enduro: 17 km, elevation 830 m
- Sport: 11 km, elevation 460 m
- Explorer: 4 km, elevation 190 m
The Enduro and Sport courses start from the Cascade Brewery Bar and move up the Cascade Track into open woodlands and rainforest gullies, then onto the main fire break and the smooth Main Fire Trail. Runners traverse Slides Track and descend to McRobies Gully before following community-built single track known as Jurassic Shark and returning along a ridgeline above Cascade Brewery on fire and mountain bike trails back to the event hub.
The Explorer course follows flowing single track with a steep uphill and a fast descent, uses Cascade Track into open woodland, drops to Old Farm Road and crosses a bridge before climbing to the Golden Gully ridgeline. The Explorer route skips Slides Track, McRobies Gully and Jurassic Shark.
Event services include bib pick-up, a run briefing with a Welcome to Country, a BBQ, presentations and spot prizes. Registrations close Tuesday 27 October 2026 at 23:59 (GMT+11); current registrations listed as 22. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
