About the race
Cascade Slide (Bar Edition) is a trail running event held at the Cascade Brewery Bar in South Hobart as the final event of the 2026 Kunanyi Trail Series, on Halloween. The course network uses nearby tracks and fire trails on the slopes of Kunanyi, passing through open woodlands, rainforest gullies and the main fire break that protects the city from bushfire.
Routes for the Enduro and Sport courses include running along Cascade Track, the smooth Main Fire Trail, Slides Track with mountain bike style switchbacks, McRobies Gully and the community-built Jurassic Shark trail, then returning along a prominent ridgeline above the brewery to finish at the event hub. The Explorer course (Cascade 4.0) follows flowing single track with a steep uphill and fast descent, climbs open woodlands on Cascade Track, drops to Old Farm Road and crosses a bridge before ascending the Golden Gully ridgeline; it omits Slides Track, McRobies Gully and Jurassic Shark.
