About the race
Run Sunset Beach is scheduled for April 10, 2027 in Sunset Beach, North Carolina. The event offers four distances starting and finishing at the waterfront park and includes both in-person and virtual registration options.

Course highlights include an intracoastal waterway bridge crossing and a tour of the island and mainland for the half marathon. The 10K also crosses the waterway and spans the island, while the 5K begins and ends in the waterfront park. The 1 Mile is a three-loop, park-based course that is not certified or officially timed. All certified courses are USATF measured.
Packet pickup is held Friday, April 9 from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Sea Trail Convention Center, 75 Clubhouse Rd, Sunset Beach. Parking areas near the park are secured and a shuttle runs from Ingram Planetarium at 7625 High Market St. Portions of the course may remain open to vehicles; USATF rules prohibit dogs, bicycles, and scooters on course, and participants without an official bib will be removed.
Support includes aid stations (half marathon eight stops, 5K one stop), a SAG vehicle, over 100 volunteers, directional signage and 8 foot flag mile markers. Post-race provisions include bananas, Gatorade, pizza and beer; bibs include one beer ticket. Awards are given by gun time overall and chip time for age groups; awards must be picked up at the event. Registration prices listed are $25 for the 1 Mile, $45 for the 5K, $55 for the 10K and $95 for the Half Marathon. Virtual packets are mailed within two weeks; transfers to virtual are allowed up to seven days before the event for a processing fee.
