ShamRock N' Run - North Myrtle Beach

ShamRock N' Run is a road race event in North Myrtle Beach offering three certified distances: a half marathon, a 10K and a 5K. Courses run along Main Street and Ocean Boulevard with stretches of ocean and beach views and are described as largely flat.

All finishers receive custom themed medals; the organizer lists specific sizes and moving elements for each distance. Participants also receive a tri-blend unisex participant shirt at packet pickup. The event includes on-course music at every mile with bag pipers, drummers, bands and DJs, plus on-course entertainment such as DJs, cheerleaders and a bag piper.

Packet pickup is scheduled the Friday before the race at J. Bryan Floyd Community Center; attendance is required to receive a bib and shirt, though a third party may pick up items on a participant’s behalf. An after party follows the finish with a beer garden and Carolina barbecue; bibs include tickets for those items.

Awards are provided for Overall, Masters and 5-year age groups for each distance. Results are posted online immediately after crossing the finish line and registrants may opt to receive results by text. A virtual option is available; virtual entrants receive mailed swag within two weeks. The event requests more than 100 volunteers and offers options to support local nonprofits or receive race entries in exchange for volunteering.
