Run Ridge Run

Run Ridge Run takes place at White Pine Beach, Sasamat Lake in Belcarra Regional Park, Port Moody, British Columbia on February 21, 2026. The event is organised by Coast Mountain Trail Running / Salomon Coast Mountain Trail Running.

Two distances are offered for 2026:

  • 13 km Skirts Sasamat Lake on the Buntzen Ridge Trail and offers glimpses of Buntzen Lake.
  • 25 km Continues onto the Diez Vistas Ridge, follows the Lakeview Trail, grazes Buntzen Lake and returns to Sasamat Lake.

Both courses include sustained climbs, descents and technical trail sections. Each distance has one water station and one aid station; the water station is located near kilometre 6 where the courses split. The long course has a cutoff at the aid station near kilometre 18.

A Kids Race of roughly 1 km is offered for children, primarily ages 3 to 10; it is non‑timed, features special kids’ bibs and finisher stickers, and registration for the kids race is free.

Per-entry benefits include a 5 USD donation to Coquitlam Search & Rescue and one tree planted locally through a Fraser Valley Indigenous Lands reforestation program. The event enforces a participant cap and may close registration when that cap is reached.

Event rules note that trekking poles are not permitted and the race is cup-free, so participants need to carry their own cup for fluids at aid stations and at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
