Run Recover Rise 5K at Spruce Creek Park
The Run Recover Rise 5k is a community road race held at Spruce Creek Park on Glenthorne Loop in Nellysford, Virginia. The course is an out-and-back route that begins at the park entrance and follows a paved path toward Rockfish Valley Highway. The route passes through trees and open fields at the base of the mountains, offering views of Nelson County.
Each registrant receives a race t-shirt; additional shirts are available for purchase on the day of the event. To receive a preferred shirt size registrants are asked to register before April 5. The base registration fee is $30, with the price increasing to $40 after March 27. Day-of registration is available on site for $50 and accepts checks only. A student discount is offered at registration.
Awards are provided to first place finishers in these age groups: 15 and under; 16 to 19 female and male; 20 to 29 female and male; 30 to 40 female and male; and over 40.
The event is a fundraiser for Nelson County Recovery Court. Recovery Court provides intensive substance abuse treatment and court supervision to help participants address drug and alcohol addiction and build a sober life in Nelson County. Community partners and sponsors include Nelson County Recovery Court, Nelson County Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney, Nelson County Sheriff's Office, Nelson County Victim Witness Program, Ski Barn, Tom Berry Law, and Basic Necessities.
