Event Overview
Run Ocean Isle Beach is an annual running event held on a coastal island in southeastern North Carolina. The 2026 edition marks the 13th year of the race and serves as the final event in the BAM! Race series. Participants traverse various island communities during the competition.
Participants can choose from several distances including:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile
The Half Marathon course covers the majority of the island and provides oceanfront views. The event takes place in late October, a time when the area historically experiences average high temperatures of 75 degrees and lows of 56 degrees.
In addition to the in-person races, virtual registration options are available for the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K distances. Virtual participants may complete their distance at any location and receive their race shirt and medal by mail.
Registered participants receive finisher swag, which includes a tri-blend T-shirt featuring a unique design and a large commemorative medal. Each year the medal design changes; previous themes have included surfboards, flip-flops, and mosaic patterns. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
