Run Oak Island - Oak Island, NC
Run Oak Island is a two day road race weekend held on February 13 and 14, 2027, on Oak Island during Presidents Day weekend. The event includes multiple distances across Saturday and Sunday and offers in-person and virtual participation options.
Distances included:
- Ultra Marathon - 26.25 miles
- Full Marathon - 26.2 miles
- East Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
- West Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
- 10K - 6.2 miles
- 5K
- 1 Mile
All finishers in most races receive three-dimensional medals and a tri-blend shirt is included for races except the 1 mile, for which a shirt is an optional add-on. Run Oak Island is part of the BAM! Race Series where completing one qualifying distance at each of the three series races in a calendar year earns an additional series medal. Several courses carry USATF certification and the full marathon is a Boston qualifier.
Course notes: East-course segments and the full marathon are predominantly flat; the West half includes two intracoastal bridge crossings with about 65 feet of elevation. Course support includes multiple water stops (13 on the full, 7 on the half, 2 on the 10K, 1 on the 5K), mile markers, volunteers, and event photographers. Time limits vary by distance. Packet pickup details for 2027 are still being finalized with a tentative location listed as St. James Community Center.
