Run Oak Island 2027
The 13th annual Run Oak Island is a two-day road race weekend on February 13 and 14, 2027, produced by Coastal Race Productions. The event offers a range of certified and non-certified distances, combo options, a virtual entry, and post-race refreshments.
Distances include:
- Ultra Marathon - 26.25 miles
- Full Marathon - 26.2 miles
- East Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
- West Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
- 10K - 6.2 miles
- 5K - 3.1 miles
- 1 Mile - untimed fun run
Course notes: the full and ultra share much of the same route with marsh and ocean views and a bridge crossing late in the course; the full marathon and several shorter races are USATF certified. The East Half is run on a flat out-and-back toward the lighthouse and includes competitive awards. The West Half follows a different route with two bridge crossings of about 65 feet elevation and a longer time limit; it does not offer age group or overall awards.
Event features: all finishers receive three-dimensional medals and most distances include a soft tri-blend shirt; the 1 Mile shirt is an optional add-on. A two-day combo and a Sunday 3-race challenge (10K + 5K + 1 Mile, totaling about 10.3 miles) each earn additional medals. Virtual entries receive mailed swag within two weeks; transfers to virtual are allowed up to seven days before the event for a processing fee.
Support and logistics: course water stops and volunteers are provided, with multiple mile markers and professional timing. Awards and a post-race party with local barbecue and a beer ticket for registrants are part of race weekend. Time limits apply to each distance.
