Event overview
The Polar Plunge & Run takes place on Saturday, February 21, 2026 in Kure Beach, NC. The event includes running, walking, and a beach plunge into the Atlantic Ocean. Live music, vendors, food trucks and games will be on site. Parking is available in legal street parking spots in surrounding blocks; parking fees may apply.

Course and accessibility
The course starts and finishes at the Kure Beach Pavilion, 105 Atlantic Avenue, Kure Beach, NC 28449. The route goes from the boardwalk through neighborhoods and parks. The course is flat and is stroller, wheelchair and dog friendly.
Awards, swag and fundraising
All 1 Mile and 5K finishers receive a finisher medal. 5K awards include top 3 overall male and female and top 3 male and female in age groups: 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. Shirt availability is guaranteed for registrations by January 15, 2026 and is distributed at packet pick up or race day; later registrants may have limited sizes.
