Run Muskegon Labor Day Community Walk
Run Muskegon’s Labor Day Community Walk is a free, family-friendly event held on September 7. Strollers are welcome; dogs are not allowed. The event is presented as a fun walk rather than a race.
The start location is The Brewer's Lounge at Pigeon Hill, 895 4th St, Muskegon, MI. Parking is available at the city lot east of The Brewer's Lounge.
The route is a 5K (3.1 mile) out-and-back on the Lakeshore Trail, heading north to Fisherman's Landing for the turnaround. Participants do not need to complete the entire distance and may turn around at any time. Cross roads will remain open to vehicle traffic and the trail will be open to the public during the event. There will not be an aid station on the route; participants may bring their own water bottle.
Registration is handled entirely online and remains open up to the day of the event. Organizers note a target registration date of August 31. Event check-in and late registration are available on site. Restrooms will be available at The Brewer's Lounge and at the Fisherman's Landing turnaround.
Organizers encourage wearing purple and turquoise and recommend making a donation to Life Align Recovery Ranch for suicide prevention via the registration donation link. Donations benefit Run Muskegon, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports community activity and weekly group runs and walks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
