About the race
Run Media City 5K & 10K takes place in MediaCity UK, Salford on Thursday 30th September 2027. The event starts and finishes in the Media City Piazza and is organised as an evening race with a two hour cut-off. The route follows a flat, fast 2.5 km loop that crosses the Millennium Bridge, passes the Imperial War Museum and runs alongside the ITV and BBC television studios. The course runs on tarmac and paved paths and is lap-based.
Race facilities listed for included entry are a unique themed medal, free race photos, chip-timed results, post-race goodies and a bag drop. Race packs are collected from the event village on the day; a booking confirmation and photo ID are required for collection. Additional event details: the organiser provides marshals and distance flags, an event village with food and drink options, and water stations during the race and at the finish. Accessibility notes state buggy runners and wheelchair athletes are welcome; running with dogs is not permitted.
