Event Overview
Run Mahomet celebrates its 30th anniversary as a community event in Mahomet, Illinois. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Mahomet Area Youth Club (MAYC), a non-profit organization that provides educational programming and support for local children. The races are held at the Mahomet-Seymour High School.
The event features several race distances with USATF Certified Courses:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon
- Main Street Mile
- Virtual 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon
The courses are described as primarily flat and fast. In-person participants receive chip timing, while virtual participants can submit their times for final rankings during the week surrounding the event. For the 5K event, families with strollers are permitted to participate. Registration for the Half Marathon is limited to participants ages 12 and older.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female overall finishers, as well as the top three finishers in various age categories. All runners who register by the specified deadline are guaranteed a technical T-shirt. Virtual participants receive a finisher medal and a shirt by mail.
Drive-through packet pickup is available at Middletown Prairie on the Friday before the races. Race-day pickup is also available for those traveling from a distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
