Kirby Derby
Kirby Derby is a community running event held at Forest Preserve Park in Monticello, Illinois on May 1, 2027. The event offers two race distances and directs proceeds to the development of the Wellness Trail provided by the Kirby Foundation.
Registration opens on January 1, 2027 and closes on March 2, 2027. The registration fee for each listed event is $25.00. Same-day registration will be available via mobile device only; there will be no cash registration at the park. The deadline to switch between events is 12:00 pm the day before the race. The deadline to request a T-shirt is 11:59 pm CST on April 2, 2027.
Bib and shirt pickup takes place at the park pavilion, with a pickup time on the Friday before the race and an additional pickup window on race morning. The course is not a closed course; volunteers will staff intersections to help guide participants and manage traffic. Two water stations will be available along the route, located by Nick's Park and Monticello Laundry; 10K participants will pass the second station twice.
