Champaign Firefighters Local 1260 5K
The Champaign Firefighters Local 1260 5K takes place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Champaign, IL (3310 Fields S Dr, 61822). The event is a 5K (3.1 mi) chip-timed race on the Carle at the Fields trail. Course, logistics and purpose
The course is flat and on a paved path. The route passes through Southwest Champaign and includes local businesses, parks, and a fire station. Free parking is available in the Health Alliance parking lot. Shirts and bibs may be picked up the morning of the race near the start/finish area. Proceeds support the Champaign Firefighters Benevolent Fund, established in 2022, which provides financial support for family members of fallen firefighters, active and retired Local 1260 members and their families, other firefighters and families in Illinois and beyond, and community groups locally.
