22nd Annual Run Like A Nut
The Run Like A Nut event takes place in Florence, South Carolina, as part of the SC Pecan Music & Food Festival. Organized by the Florence Downtown Development Corp, the races follow flat and fast routes through several historic neighborhoods in the downtown area. The half marathon distance is USATF certified and is included in the Pee Dee Grand Prix.
Available distances include:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
Participants are permitted to use strollers, listen to music, and bring pets. There are no age restrictions for runners. Participants are organized into age groups ranging from 14 and under up to 70 and over. Finishers of the half marathon receive a medal, and cash prizes are awarded to the top overall male and female runners in that distance. Awards are also provided for masters categories and top age group finishers across all distances.
The event is held at 120 E. Elm Street, which serves as the location for both the race start and packet pickup. The venue is situated two blocks away from the SC Pecan Music & Food Festival grounds.
