Back2School 5K
The Back2School 5K in Florence, South Carolina, is the ninth annual benefit run supporting the South Florence High School Cross Country Team. Proceeds will help cover meet expenses and purchase training items and gear for the team.
The course is described as fast and flat and runs through the neighborhood adjacent to the Florence Family YMCA. The event takes place at Florence Family YMCA Friendship Park, 1700 Rutherford Drive, Florence, SC 29505. Kona Ice will be onsite during the event.
Registration opens on December 31, 2025. An early registration window offers reduced fees through June 30, 2026, with standard and late registration periods listed through August 23, 2026. To be guaranteed a race shirt, registrants must register by August 10, 2026. Shirt sizes include adult S, M, L, XL and youth YS, YM, YL.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at the park pavilion; participants should bring an ID. Strollers are allowed during the event. Dogs are welcome when kept on a leash or secured in a pet stroller. Awards for the 5K are presented by gun time for overall male and female, masters male and female, and age group placings across multiple age divisions.
