RUN! GEEK! RUN! 5K: Alexandria
RUN! GEEK! RUN! is an annual 5K road race held in Alexandria, VA that benefits a different Alexandria-based nonprofit each year. The 2026 edition is the event's 19th annual race and names the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria as its beneficiary.
The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria supports academically qualified students with financial need from Alexandria City Public Schools. It awards more than 200 scholarships each year, renews scholarships for up to four years for recipients with ongoing need, and has served students at Alexandria City High School since 1986.
The race course runs through suburban streets in Alexandria and is described as flat and scenic. The starting line is located between George Washington Middle School and the Braddock Road metro stop. The event program includes race awards and race shirts, and the organizer lists volunteer roles such as handing out water, serving as course marshals, and supporting the finish area.
