Run Forest Run 5k - Seattle
Run Forest Run 5k is an annual themed 5 km event inspired by the film Forrest Gump. The course runs around Green Lake Park and uses the east side of the Green Lake Community Center for the start and finish, located outside the center.
Costumes are encouraged but not required. Runners wearing Forrest Gump costumes are allowed to start in the front of the field.
Race amenities include a custom finisher's medal made from wood to reduce metal waste. The medals are produced by Ridgeway Woodworks from reclaimed wood, with most reclaimed material kept out of landfills.
Participants receive professional race photos, a long sleeve shirt with guaranteed sizes and availability 1/5/26, a free bag for those who register by 1/5/26, and additional swag while supplies last. The event also provides themed photo opportunities and finish line goodies.
A course map is available. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
