The Run For Your Life 5k Series - The City Collapsed

The event takes place on October 3, 2026, at 691 E Dayton Yellow Springs Rd, Fairborn, OH 45324. It combines a timed 3.1 mile run with an interactive, themed experience where participants adopt one of two roles.

Participants may register as Survivors or as Zombies. The Run For Your Life 5k is a 3.1 mile running race. Survivors run the course wearing a flag football belt; marked infected zones appear along the route where Zombies may try to capture flags. Losing one or more flags indicates infection, but those participants still finish and receive a finisher medal. Zombies remain within designated infected zones and attempt to take flags from Survivors. Costume and creative zombie looks are encouraged. The Zombie Experience offers limited zombie slots and includes a T-shirt.

The event uses a mission theme in which Survivors are tasked with protecting an ingredient and completing laps to deliver it to Run Ohio Races Central Headquarters as part of the scenario. Course maps will show infected zones, and Zombies are restricted to those zones. Registration for the 5k opens January 21, 2026, with a listed fee of $35.00; registration for the Zombie Experience opens February 23, 2026, and is listed as free. Registration for both events closes on October 3, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
