The Run For Your Life - The Outbreak
The event takes place on September 27, 2026 in Fairborn, Ohio, at Fairborn Community Park and nearby paved paths. The program includes multiple race distances and themed activities that simulate running through marked infected zones.
Participants may register as either Survivors or Zombies. Survivors run wearing a flag football belt; zombies remain inside designated infected zones and try to capture flags. If a Survivor reaches the finish with all flags intact, they are recorded as surviving; losing one or more flags indicates infection but the participant still finishes. Zombies are encouraged to wear costumes and creative makeup. The Zombie Experience includes a T-shirt and has limited zombie slots.
All running entrants receive a finisher medal. Organizers will mark infected zones on the course map and restrict zombies to those zones. Each distance uses out-and-back sections and a specified number of infected areas, increasing with distance.
Distances offered:
- 1 Mile - 0.5 mile out and return, 2 infected areas.
- 5K - three out-and-back sections, 6 infected areas.
- 10K - six out-and-back sections, 12 infected areas.
- 15K - nine out-and-back sections, 18 infected areas.
- Zombie Experience - 6.2 miles with zombie role and T-shirt included.
- Make-up Artists service available on site.
