About the race
Run For Us 5K is the Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival annual 5K run-walk for health and wellness, held at Al Lopez Park in Tampa, Florida on February 7, 2027. The event is professionally timed and listed as a 3.1 mile course. Registration categories include a standard 5K entry, a youth category for ages 12 to 17, a free entry for children under 12 who must be accompanied by a registered adult, and a no-shirt option.
Registration typically includes a race bib, finisher's medal, and a participant shirt when selected; shirts are not provided for free child entries and shirt sizes chosen after January 15, 2026 are not guaranteed. Packet pickup is scheduled before race day at Fit2Run (International Plaza & Bay Street, 2223 N Westshore Blvd, Tampa) and on race day at the green Fit2Time Race Management tent at the event site. Race day logistics note that bibs must be worn on the front of the shirt for time recording and replacement bibs are available at the packet tent. Dogs on leash and children in strollers are allowed, with runners and walkers asked to keep to the right side of the path; children in strollers must remain seated and strollers should not block the course. Race results are provided via a QR code on the race bib and by email.
In the event of severe weather, the directors may cancel the race; registrations cancelled for weather are not refunded and remaining funds will be applied to event costs and the event beneficiary. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
