Run for the Word 5K
The Run for the Word 5K is a community running event held in Landis, NC at Trinity Lutheran Church, 108 West Rice Street. The event includes in-person and virtual options and supports the South Rowan Public Schools Bible Teaching Association.

The 5K course begins on Zion Street across Highway 153 from Trinity Lutheran Church, follows Hoke Street, Kimmons Street and Rice Street, then turns onto Highway 29 Business. Participants follow the road 1.1 miles to a turnaround in the Hogan's Cabinetry parking lot, retrace the route toward Landis for about 1 mile, then turn onto Ridge Avenue and return on Zion Street to finish beside the church. The course is described as flat.
Awards are presented immediately after the race and include Top 3 overall male and female, overall masters male and female, and 5K top 3 male and female in each age division. The half-mile fun run offers awards for ages 12 and under in two age groups: 8 and under, and 9-12.
All in-person 5K and fun run participants receive a technical t-shirt and free ice cream at the finish line. Virtual 5K participants receive a shirt and are not eligible for awards.
