Run for the Word 5K
The Run for the Word 5K in Landis, NC is a community running event held on September 12, 2026. The in-person course starts on Zion Street near Trinity Lutheran Church (108 W. Rice Street), follows local streets to Highway 29 Business, includes a turnaround in the Hogan's Cabinetry parking lot, and returns to finish beside Trinity Lutheran Church. The route passes through town streets and includes a one-mile return segment before the final turn onto Zion Street.

Registration and check-in take place at Trinity Lutheran Church at the listed address. In-person 5K and fun run participants receive a technical t-shirt and free ice cream at the finish line. Virtual 5K participants receive a shirt; shirts may be picked up in person on race day at Trinity Lutheran Church or at an alternative time and location to be announced. Virtual participants are not eligible for awards.
Proceeds are designated for the South Rowan Public Schools Bible Teaching Association. Timing and scoring for the 5K will be provided by a local timing organization. Awards are presented immediately after the race and include overall and age group awards for the 5K and age group awards for the fun run.
