Event overview
The 40th Annual Run for the Turtles takes place on April 11, 2026, on Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, FL. The event is a fundraiser for Mote Marine Laboratory’s Sea Turtle Conservation & Research Program. A virtual participation option is offered alongside the in-person events. Registration for the 1 Mile and 5K includes a race t-shirt, access to a food station, and a kids activities area. The 5K is chip timed and sanctioned by the Manasota Track Club. All 1 Mile finishers receive a finisher ribbon; prizes are awarded to the overall male and female top finishers. The 5K awards the top six finishers by age group and recognizes Overall Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Grand Master categories.
Pricing (1 Mile and 5K): Adults (14 and up) - $40 early bird through January 30, 2026, $45 regular thereafter. Kids (13 and under) - $25 early bird, $30 regular thereafter. Early packet pickup is available; race day pickup is also offered. Multiple water stations will be provided; participants are asked to bring a reusable water bottle.
