Run for the Trees Jeannette Genius McKean Memorial 5K
This event is a point to point 5K run/walk in Winter Park, Florida, with the finish located on the tree canopied, wilderness dirt road of Genius Drive. The course opens a privately owned glimpse of old Florida to the public once a year. All in person finishers receive a young tree sapling.

The event includes a race T-shirt, B-Tag timing, and is produced as a cupless race. At registration and bib pick-up participants may receive a complimentary reusable cup; touchless refill stations are available in the pre- and post-event areas and on course. Participants walk back to the post-race area using a 1.3 mile walking path from the finish.
Registration is offered in person and virtually; processing fees apply. Entry fees increase over registration periods, with listed pricing ranging from $37 to $52 and a $10 discount for those 17 and under and 65 and over through May 8. All entry fees are non-refundable; transfers to new participants are allowed for a transfer fee.
The event benefits the Winter Park Tree Replacement Fund. Historically the city gives away over 1,500 trees to attendees to encourage replanting and reforestation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
