Run for the Son 5K and Fun Run - Ellijay, GA
Run for the Son 5K and Fun Run is scheduled for May 2, 2026, at 75 McCutchen St, Ellijay, GA 30540. The event program includes a 5K, a Virtual 5K, a Fun Run, and a Tot Trot for ages 1 to 5. The Tot Trot has no entry fee and its registration closes April 30, 2026. Entry fees for the 5K, Virtual 5K, and Fun Run are listed at $30, with prices increasing after April 24, 2026; a $2 discount applies to each registrant when three or more people register together.
The course is a double loop around the mountain town of Ellijay and starts and finishes at the Scout Hut near Ellijay Elementary School. Free parking is available at Ellijay Elementary School across from the Scout Hut. Shirts are guaranteed for those who register by April 24, 2026; later registrants and race-day registrants receive shirts while supplies last. There will be refreshments on site.
Awards are given to overall male and female, overall masters male and female, and three deep in five-year age groups from 10 and under through 75 and over. Two team awards recognize the largest registered team and the team with the most time submissions; winning teams receive trophies for display for one year. Timing is handled by BT Race Timing; the event will not use chip timing. Finish cards must be completed with name, age, bib number and gender and returned at the results boards for posting. Virtual participants may submit a time by noon on May 1, 2026, receive a shirt, and are not eligible for awards. In case of rain the races will proceed; severe weather may cause delay or cancellation. No refunds are issued. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
