Run for the Roses 5K, 1K Walk, & Virtual 5K
The event runs April 25-30, 2026 in Manhattan, Kansas at 1500 Denison Avenue (Manhattan, KS 66506). Organized entries include in-person and virtual options. Distances offered include:

Course, awards, and registration details
The in-person course starts and finishes in the K-State Gardens, includes a lap on the track inside the World War I football field, and passes Anderson Hall, the Student Union, and Ahearn Fieldhouse. Dogs are not allowed on the course. The in-person 5K course is USATF Certified for 2026. Top three finishers receive a glazed purple pot with a rose-shaped succulent plant.
Entry fees listed on the event page are $35 for the 5K ($25 for ages 0-21), $20 for the 1K Walk, $35 for the virtual 5K, and $25 for the 5K active military discount. Prices increase after March 1, 2026 at 11:59pm CST. Virtual participants may use any 5K course and run between April 24 and April 29, timing themselves and submitting results via the link near the QR code in the registration confirmation.
