Run for the Rose 5K - Lancaster
The Run for the Rose 5K is a community road and greenway event organized by the United Way of Lancaster County. Proceeds benefit United Way programs that address healthy community, youth opportunity, financial security, and community resiliency, and the organization funds local nonprofit programs and initiatives.
The course follows the Lindsay Pettus Greenway and includes boardwalk and concrete sections along Gills Creek. The route passes a local school, continues along the boardwalk, and loops at the Woodland Drive entrance before returning to the start and finish area near the Comporium Nature Pavilion.
Two participation options are offered: a timed 3.1 mile race and an untimed fun run on the same course with the option to shorten to a one mile course. Fees for the listed events are $25 for the timed 5K and $20 for the untimed fun run. Registrations are accepted during the posted registration window for the event; registrations completed by April 30 are guaranteed an adult size T-shirt. Early registrants may receive event merchandise while supplies last.
Packet pickup is available the day before at Five Grands Lancaster Square Shopping Center and on race day at the Lancaster County Chamber parking lot at 453 Colonial Ave, race headquarters under the United Way tent. Awards include 1st and 2nd overall for men and women plus age group winners. Ninety s themed attire is encouraged and prizes will be awarded for best dressed.
