Run for the Heroes 5K, 10K, & Fun Walk
Run for the Heroes is a Memorial Day event held on May 25, 2026 at St Anthony School, 2536 Hoffmeyer Road, Florence, SC 29501. The event honors military personnel who died while on active duty and recognizes current Active and Reserve personnel and their families. Proceeds benefit St Anthony School with a portion donated to the local American Red Cross. The event is part of the Pee Dee Grand Prix.
The event offers multiple course options:
- 10K run
- 5K run
- 1 mile Honor Walk
- Kids Fun Run for ages 9 and under
Entry fees vary by event and by registration date. Through April 30 the 5K fee is $30 and the 10K fee is $40; fees increase in May. The 1 mile Honor Walk fee is $15 and the kids fun run fee is $10. Participants who register by May 4 receive the race T-shirt. Military personnel and veterans receive 50% off entry fees with discount code HERO50.
Packet pickup is available the day before the event and on race morning. Awards include overall and masters (40+) male and female awards for the 5K and 10K, plus first through third place age-group awards. The event welcomes strollers, wheelchairs, and leashed pets, and provides handicapped parking. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
