About the race
The Downtown Florence Reindeer Dash 5K takes place in downtown Florence on December 12, 2026. The event starts and finishes at The James Allen Plaza, 119 S. Dargan Street, and benefits Florence Downtown Development Corp., a 501c3 non-profit and Accredited Main Street Program.
Registration opens July 15. Early registration prices apply through November 1: general $30 and student $25. Late and day-of pricing are listed with higher fees; day-of registration is available. Shirts are guaranteed for participants registered before November 1; limited additional shirts will be available on race day. Shirt sizes include adult S-2XL and youth M and L.
The event uses a 5K run-walk course. Awards based on gun time include Top Overall Male and Female, Top Masters Male and Female, and the top three males and females in each age group. Age groups are 7 and under; 8-12; 13-16; 17-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and 70 plus.
Event amenities and activities include a pre-race DJ, hot cocoa at the finish, a meet and greet with Rudolph, and prizes for Best Dressed Reindeer individual and Best Dressed Reindeer Herd. Strollers and walkers are welcome, participants may listen to music while running, and well socialized leashed pets are permitted. Day-of packet pickup takes place at The James Allen Plaza.
