Event Information
The Run for the Buds 5K takes place on Sunday, March 22, 2026. The event is held in Dewey, Delaware, starting and finishing at The Starboard on 2009 Coastal Highway. This is the 19th annual edition of the race.
Cause
All proceeds from the event benefit the Down Syndrome Association of Delaware, a nonprofit organization. The race celebrates the weekend of World Down Syndrome Day and aims to raise awareness and support for individuals with Down syndrome.
Race Details
The event is a 5K road race. Packet pickup is available on race day from 8:00 a.m. until 8:55 a.m. at The Starboard. The race is timed, with awards presented in several categories. These include overall male and female winners, overall masters winners, and the top three finishers in various age groups for men and women.
Amenities
Registered participants receive complimentary race merchandise and a pair of mismatched "Rock Your Socks." Water and race fuel are provided, and there is post-race food and drinks available at The Starboard venue. Additional event apparel is available for separate purchase.
