About the race
Run for the Boolies is an evening 5k in Lakeland, Florida, held to support the Polk County Bully Project and its work with bully breeds. The event offers both an in-person race and a virtual option, each covering the same distance and using chip timing for official results. The course starts on the path at Jonila Ave.

Entry fees change by date: $30 through August 31, $35 September 1 through September 27, $40 September 28 through October 2, and $45 on race day if the event remains open. Early packet pickup is scheduled at Fleet Feet Lakeside Village in Lakeland on the Friday before the race. Day-of packet pickup and registration are available near the start area, and the packet pickup line closes before the race begins. There is limited public parking at Lakeland Country Club.
A dog costume contest will be held behind the country club parking lot next to the registration tent; entrants are expected to be present at the contest area for judging. Dogs are welcome at the event if friendly and kept on a leash, and owners are asked to clean up after their animals.
Awards include overall male and female, overall masters (40+) male and female, and top-three male and female awards in standard five-year age groups from 9 and under through 80 plus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
