Run for the Badge 5K
The Sterling Police Department hosts the fourth annual Run for the Badge 5K in Sterling, Illinois. This event serves as a community gathering that begins and ends at the Sterling Township Building located at 505 W. Lynn Blvd.
The race is a non-competitive event and is not officially timed. Participants follow a 5K route through the local area. While there is no registration fee to participate, donations are accepted on-site to benefit Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.).

The event is open to various types of participants, as strollers and well-mannered dogs are permitted on the course. To support those taking part, the organizers provide water and snacks during the event. Additionally, a complimentary t-shirt is provided to the first 100 individuals who register for the race.
