Run for Restoration
The Run for Restoration is an annual event held at City Island in Harrisburg. Organized to support restorative care for survivors of human trafficking, the event features two distinct options for participants:
- Certified 5K
- Fun Run/Walk
Participants in the certified race compete for medals awarded to the first, second, and third-place finishers within specific age groups and by sex. Age divisions range from 14 and younger up to 60 and older. Additionally, prizes are awarded to the fastest overall male and female runners.
All registered participants receive an exclusive event t-shirt and a runner's kit. The event site includes several amenities and activities beyond the race course, such as food trucks, a raffle, and refreshments for those taking part. A dedicated activity area for children is available, providing access to the local carousel.
The event also emphasizes fundraising goals, allowing individuals to raise support independently or as part of a team. Pre-race activities include organized stretches for participants, and check-in takes place on-site at City Island before the start of the events.
