About the race
Run for Refugees 2026 is a community fundraising event hosted by the Dallas Muslim Running Club (DMRC) at Sam Houston Trail Park in Irving, Texas on October 3, 2026. The event benefits Ma'ruf Dallas and includes a vendor area, food trucks, and a dedicated kids zone.
Participants can choose between these options:
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- 5K Race
The 5K is chip timed and official results will be available online; the one mile fun run is not chip timed. All events start and finish at Sam Houston Trail Park. Every registration includes a Run for Refugees T-shirt, and finisher medals are awarded to participants for their registered sub-event at the finish line.
Race registration is non-transferable and non-refundable. Awards for the 5K include overall and masters (40+) placements, age-group medals for multiple categories, a largest-team award, and a top-fundraiser trophy; awards must be claimed at the awards tent on race day and will not be mailed. Fundraising donations for award consideration must be submitted by September 13. Sponsorships and donations are accepted through race day, though sponsor materials submitted after September 11 may not appear on event shirts or banners due to printing deadlines.
Packet pick-up will not be available on race day. Packet pick-up is scheduled on pre-event dates at local partner locations. Overflow parking is available at Ranchview High School with signage directing participants to the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
