Run for Recovery 5K - Oklahoma City

The Run for Recovery 5K is scheduled for May 23, 2026 at Stars & Stripes Park on Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City (3701 S. Lake Hefner Dr.). The event includes 5K run/walk, 5K pushchair riders, a 5K virtual run, and volunteer roles.

The course is a loop route on recreational trails at Lake Hefner. The route is pet and stroller friendly and is described as suitable for runners of varying abilities. A course map is available for download.

The event benefits Teen Recovery Solutions (TRS), the umbrella organization for Mission Academy High School, a sober high school in Oklahoma. TRS provides recovery support for teenagers with substance use concerns, operates an after-school alternative peer group with regular meetings and social events, offers 12-step meetings and activities for students, and provides classes and support for families. Proceeds from the race support TRS and Mission Academy High School.

Packet pick up is handled through the Red Coyote Oklahoma City store at 5720 N Classen and on-site packet pick up is available at the race. Timing uses MyLaps bib tag timing with live online results, optional finish time notifications, downloadable finisher certificates, and event photos provided through a race photography partner. Optional third party race insurance is offered during registration.

Pets are welcome but should be well socialized and kept on a leash-harness; owners are asked to bring clean-up bags. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
