Event overview
The Run for Recovery 5K is scheduled for November 9, 2025 in Athens, Georgia at Sandy Creek Park, 400 Bob Holman Road. The event includes a Run for Recovery 5K Walk/Run, a kids Fun Run for ages 1 to 14, a Virtual 5K, and a Phantom Participant option. Proceeds support Acceptance Recovery and Inclusive Recovery Athens.
Logistics and features
The 5K and Fun Run courses run entirely on paved surfaces inside Sandy Creek Park. Fun Run participants complete one lap around the park circle and receive a finishers ribbon. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations received by October 31, 2025; Fun Run shirts cost $10. The in-person 5K race fee is $25 plus a sign-up fee and increases after October 31, 2025. The Virtual 5K allows participants to run 3.1 miles anywhere; virtual runners are not eligible for race day awards or t-shirts and must be registered as virtual runners. Phantom Participants register to receive a shirt without running; registrations received after October 31, 2025 are considered donations only. Awards will be presented in overall and masters divisions for male, female, and non-binary categories. Finish line management and timing are provided by Classic Race Services.
