5th Annual Run for Recovery - Anderson
The event is hosted by The Bridge Center Recovery in Anderson, South Carolina. It includes two footrace options:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The starting location is at East/West Parkway and Highway 81 (Ingles Intersection) near the East-West Connector and HWY 81 in Anderson. The 5K will be timed by Upstate Race Series; the 1 Mile Fun Run will not be timed. Race packet pick-up begins at the starting location 45 minutes before the race.
Registration opens on 2026-12-23. Earlybird pricing is listed as 5K $30 and 1 Mile $10. Regular race fees are listed as 5K $35, 1 Mile $15, and toddlers under 2 are free when in a stroller. Event shirts are included with registration for 5K participants only; 1 Mile participants may purchase shirts. T-shirts are guaranteed only to participants who register before 3/19 while supplies last.
Proceeds go to The Bridge Center Recovery Scholarship Fund to assist men entering the treatment program. The organizer states the current program cost is $4,000 for four months. Prizes and medals will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers, and medals will be given to the top three male and female runners in the following age brackets: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. The race is planned to run rain or shine; if weather forces cancellation, registration fees will be treated as donations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
