Event Overview
The 5th Annual Run for Recovery - Anderson is a community running event hosted by The Bridge Center Recovery. This event takes place in Anderson, South Carolina, and serves as a fundraiser for a scholarship fund that provides financial assistance for individuals in drug and alcohol addiction treatment programs. The event operates on a rain or shine basis.
Course and Location
The race starts at the intersection of East-West Parkway and Highway 81, near the Ingles intersection. Participants can choose between two different distances:
- 5K (Timed race)
- 1 Mile (Untimed Fun Run)
Participation Details
The 5K race is electronically timed by Upstate Race Series. Participants in the 5K receive an event shirt with their registration, while those in the 1 Mile Fun Run have the option to purchase one. T-shirts are guaranteed for those who register by mid-March. Race packets are available for collection at the starting location 45 minutes before the event begins. Children under the age of two may participate for free if they are in a stroller.
Awards and Recognition
Prizes and medals are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers in the 5K. Additionally, medals are provided to the top three male and female runners in various age categories, ranging from 12 and under to 70 and over.
