Event details
The Anderson Area YMCA Reindeer Run takes place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Anderson Area YMCA, 201 East Reed Road, Anderson, SC 29621. The event offers two race options:
- 1 Mile
- 5K
Registration fees listed on the event page are $30 for the 1 Mile and $35 for the 5K. A festive long-sleeve Reindeer Run shirt is included with registration; registrants who register by November 10 at noon are guaranteed a shirt subject to size and quantity limits.
Registration and logistics
All registration is handled online through RunSignUp. There will be no in-person, face-to-face race day registration; registered participants collect their bibs at packet pick up. Packet pick up is scheduled at the Anderson Area YMCA front entrance under the awning the day before and on the day of the event. Multi-event discounts are applied at the end of registration for participants who enter more than one race.
Awards and competitions
Results and awards are based on chip time due to a rolling start format. The 1 Mile event awards an overall grand prize for male and female winners and medals to the top three male and female finishers in the age groups 5 and under, 6-9, 10-12, 13-15, and 16-19. The 5K awards overall, masters, and grandmasters grand prizes for male and female winners and medals to the top three in multiple age groups. An elementary school competition awards two $500 prizes: one for highest percentage participation and one for highest number of participants; schools must register under the team option and meet the event registration deadline to count.
