Ice Breaker 8K - Lakeside Park, Piedmont SC
The Ice Breaker 8K is an 8 kilometer trail race held at Lakeside Park in Piedmont, South Carolina. The course uses the Every Minute Trail and All Day, Baby Trail and runs through wooded single track sections with several undulations, switchbacks, minimal roots, and a few gradual inclines. Runners will pass a central hub and the aid station twice before returning on the All Day Trail to the finish area.
The start and finish are located between the baseball diamonds and the football field on the east side of the park. Parking is available in the marked spaces around the baseball fields. Due to the terrain, strollers are not recommended. Runners, walkers, hikers and furry friends on leash are welcome.
Registration opens September 1, 2026 and closes January 5, 2027. The registration fee is $35.00. Aid is provided on the course at two separate mile markers. All finishers receive a finishers medal. Overall awards are given to the top three male and female finishers and top three in male and female age group categories. Age group categories start at 1-9 and continue through 70 plus.
