Run for Reading 5K Run/Walk
The Run for Reading 5K is a community run and walk benefiting the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library. The event takes place at Winding Hills Park North and South in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, at 901 E. Winding Hill Road, Upper Allen Township, PA 17055.

- Virtual 5K option
The 5K course uses paths in both Winding Hills Park North and South and continues through neighborhood paths and roads. Finish line timing and results are provided by Pretzel City Sports; race results are posted within 72 hours on Pretzel City Sports and the library web page.
Awards for the 5K include medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female in each age group, plus cash and medal prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers and the top Veteran finisher. There are no medals for the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk or for virtual participants. 5K age groups are 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.
Registration options include in-person and virtual entries, with a shirt guaranteed for 5K participants who register by the stated deadline. Optional online registration is available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
