Run For Rare
The Run For Rare is a community sports event held at Gwynedd Mercy University in Gwynedd Valley, Pennsylvania. Organized by the Sport Business Association, this student-led initiative serves as a collaboration to support those living with rare diseases through the nonprofit organization Uplifting Athletes. The event focuses on using sport to foster connection, purpose, and leadership within the community.
Participants can choose between running and walking options on the university grounds. The event includes the following distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5k Run)
- 1 Mile (Walk)
The proceeds from the event are allocated to research funding, family support, and leadership development for the rare disease community, as well as supporting future initiatives of the Sport Business Association. Registrations are open to both students and the general public. While online registration closes the day before the event, on-site registration is available on the day of the race.
