Event Overview
The Run for Rare is an inaugural event held at Gwynedd Mercy University in Gwynedd Valley, Pennsylvania. This initiative is organized entirely by students within the Sport Business Association. The event serves as a fundraiser to support Uplifting Athletes, a nonprofit organization that provides research funding and support for individuals living with rare diseases.
Participants can choose between two main distances:

- 1 Mile (Walk)
The event is designed as a fun run and walk rather than a competitive race. There is no official chipped timing provided for participants. The course takes place on and around the university campus at 1325 Sumneytown Pike.
Registration is tiered with different rates for students and members of the general community. Participants who register by a specific deadline in early April are eligible to receive an event shirt. While online registration concludes the day before the event, registration remains open on the morning of the activity. All proceeds from the entry fees are directed toward rare disease research and the development of future student-led sport business programs.
