About the race
The Philly Christmas Run is a festive 5K road race in Philadelphia on December 12, 2026. The course is an out and back on MLK Drive beside the Philadelphia Museum of Art, following the Schuylkill River. The event is chip timed and posts official results for every finisher.
Participants choose one of four character categories: Penguin, Polar Bear, Reindeer, or Santa. Each category is limited to 500 runners for a total field cap of 2,000. Every registered participant receives a character hat, a matching character bib, a finisher medal, and hot chocolate at the finish.
Awards recognize the top Male and top Female finisher in each character category, for eight award winners total. The event notes accommodations for participants with disabilities, including accessible routes, ADA compliant restrooms, accessible packet pickup, and guide runners. Organizers plan to confirm a stroller policy, packet pickup details, and hat sizing closer to race day.
Registration pricing is tiered with an Early Bird rate, a standard 5K rate, and a race week rate; prices increase as the event approaches and spots are limited. The race is organized by Run The Day and is presented as a family friendly holiday morning that welcomes running, walking, and jogging at all paces.
