Run For Preservation : Monkton, MD
Run For Preservation is a community 5K run/walk held at My Lady's Manor Steeplechase Course in Monkton, Maryland. The event raises funds for The Harford Land Trust and The Manor Conservancy and takes place on conserved rural land that includes rolling farmland and historic estates.
The course passes through protected open space within the Manor, providing a route that highlights the landscape these organizations work to preserve. Results will be professionally timed by Bryn Mawr Racing Co., and official results will be published online after the event.
Awards are presented for overall finishers and by age group. Prizes are given to the top three overall finishers and the top three finishers in each age division: under 18, 18 to 65, and 65 and over.
Registration fees are published in advance. Early registration is listed at $45, with the fee increasing to $55 later in April. Registration closes in late April.
After the race there will be an awards presentation and a casual gathering with finger foods, allowing participants to socialize and view the surrounding scenery. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
