Run for One
The Run for One is a community event held at Faulkner Park in Tyler, Texas. The primary goal of the gathering is to raise awareness for Type 1 Diabetes and support individuals living with the condition. Participants have the option to walk, ride, or run during the event.
The event features a 5K running race.
Specific registration tiers are available for different age groups:
- 5K: open to adults and children 12 years and under.
Registration includes an event T-shirt, though participants must complete their registration by the specified October deadline to be guaranteed a shirt in their size. The proceeds from the event assist the local community through educational classes, monthly support groups, and other local programs.
The event marks the 10th anniversary of the race. To commemorate the milestone, a special 100-mile run will be performed by a guest runner over a 24-hour period as a representation of the daily management of Type 1 Diabetes. The organization also uses the event to promote knowledge of warning signs associated with the condition.
Early packet pickup is available at a local restaurant near the Broadway Square Mall on the day prior to the race. On-site registration and packet pickup are also available on the morning of the event at the registration tent located within the park.
