Run for Nature : Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust
Run for Nature takes place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Shedd Park, 453 Rogers Street, Lowell, MA. The event offers multiple course options and family-focused activities to support Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust’s conservation and education work.
Distances
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Trail Run (no walk for 10K)
- 1 mile Kids Fun Run/Walk (ages 12 and under, not timed)
The main course is a mix of double- and single-track trails through Shedd Park and Rogers Fort Hill Park, with a paved segment along the Concord River Greenway. The route includes short sidewalk and road connectors, will be marked with flags and signs, and will be staffed at road crossings and major turns. 10K runners complete the loop twice. There is one water stop on course (10K passes it twice); water and light snacks are also available at the finish line. Participants are encouraged to bring reusable bottles to reduce waste.
Event features include educational displays, children’s activities, live animals, and light refreshments. The event is held rain or shine; there are no refunds or day-of registration. The organizer is committed to making the event accessible regardless of ability to pay. Parking is available at the Shedd Park Pavilion and at nearby lots and street parking.
All proceeds support LP&CT’s land protection, species conservation, environmental education programs, and community programs. Donations and sponsorships will be matched dollar for dollar. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
