Millennium Mile
The Millennium Mile is a point-to-point running event held on New Year's Day in Londonderry, New Hampshire. The race follows a downhill 1 mile course designed for participants of all ages and abilities. The route begins on Mammoth Road in front of Londonderry High School and travels south, finishing at the corner of Mammoth Road and Peabody Row.
To manage course congestion and ensure participant safety, the race uses a two-wave start system. The first wave is designated for competitive runners capable of a pace of 9:00 minutes per mile or faster. The second wave follows shortly after, accommodating recreational runners, families, and groups.
Participants have the option to complete the event in person or via a virtual category. The virtual race allows runners to submit their times from any location over a multi-day period around the holiday. In-person participants can access parking at Londonderry High School and Matthew Thornton Elementary School.
Available distances:
- 1 mile
Post-race amenities for in-person finishers include water, fresh fruit, and yogurt. Registered participants also receive a beer ticket redeemable at a local brewery. Digital race photos and finisher videos are provided to all participants after the event. A winter hat is guaranteed to the first 1,200 registered individuals across both the in-person and virtual categories.
The event features various recognition tiers, including awards for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as age group awards ranging from children aged 3 to adults over 80.
